Some 40 Rotarians, partners and Friends of Rotary including special guests Councillor Patricia White, Deputy Mayor, representing the Mayor of the City of Shoalhaven; past Rotary District Governor Glenn Wran; and Assistant Governor Christa Wood enjoyed the formalities and fellowship.

Highlights of the night included classical songs by Saphyre Bunyan, a previous winner of the Lin Fowler Memorial Rotary Music Scholarship at the Shoalhaven Eisteddfod; and presentations of two “Paul Harris Fellows”, and recognition of length of Rotary service.

Jason Cox was awarded his Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) for his fundraising and physical efforts to participate in the “Everest Assault” as a part of the team led by Berry Rotarian Ken Hutt to support the End Polio Campaign.

Phil Presgrave received a PHF for his work and drive in fulfilling the values of Rotary since joining Rotary in Brisbane in 2010; and in particular, for his work as past President.

In addition, long time Nowra resident and Rotarian Norm Tucker was recognised for 50 years of service. In accepting his certificate, Norm also paid loving compliments to his wife Pat for her support over the period. Norm was a charter member of the Wagga-Wagga Kooringal in 1969 and moved to Nowra in 1976.

Assistant Governor Christa Wood presented a banner and pin to President Graeme marking the theme of the upcoming year – ‘Rotary Connects the World’. From Rotary’s presence in the Shoalhaven, and Graeme’s plans for the year, this theme is very apt.

The dinner finished with President Graeme introducing his 2019-20 Board members
