Showmow BBQ fundraiser
On Saturday, 28 January our club ran a fundraiser BBQ for the hungry crowd at the Showmow Lawnmower racing event in Bomaderry.
It was great to see so many Rotarians pitch in and support this fundraiser. We cooked up a storm of hamburgers and sausages and kept them all well fed and watered.
This was a great team effort and so lovely to see such good camaraderie on show.
With thanks to Geoff and Graeme, our chief roll slicers, Rob who took all the valuable cash and credit cards and kept the hungry crowds amused while Trace, Peter and Jason sweated over a hot BBQ cooking over 200 sausages and 100 hamburgers and to David who ably handed out the cooked product to our customers. And last but by no means least -Arthur, our stalwart who was the chief sliced bread man and put the youngster to show with his enthusiasm and energy.
The queues were long and the crowds kept coming. Thanks to David who arranged the Marine Rescue BBQ trailer for us to use. Great to see Jason and Kerry whose kids lent a good helping hand too.
We raised over $1,000 at this fundraiser and we will be putting this towards our Youth Lifeskill project.
Thank you to all those who contributed to the success of this fundraiser. Linda Fuller - Youth Director
